The Faculty of Science is one of the four founding faculties of Kingsley Ozumba Mbadiwe University, Ogboko which took off in the 2021/2022 academic session after the university was established by Imo state law No. 1 of 2021.

The Faculty is headed by a Dean, who is appointed by the Vice-Chancellor normally from among the senior academic staff members of the College.

The primary objective of the Faculty is to produce graduates that are both academically sound, professionally proficient, and fit for the world of work, who will be able to contribute their own quota to the advancement of industry and the economic development of the society. From its inception to-date, the Faculty is regarded as the pivotal faculty in the University because it has the responsibility to translate into concrete terms and reality the avowed objective of the University, which is to produce university graduates that will be selfless, sufficiently creative, innovative, and fit for the world of work, entrepreneurially and mentally resourceful to provide services, thereby creating jobs .

The Faculty of Science presently has nine academic departments, namely

  1. The Department of Microbiology,
  2. The Department of Biochemistry,
  3. The Department of Zoology,
  4. The Department of Mathematics,
  5. The Department of Computer Science,
  6. The Department of Statistics,
  7. The Department of Chemistry,
  8. The Department of Physics,
  9. The Department of Biology.

The available undergraduate programmes in the College are:

Programmes to come on board in the immediate future include:

  2. B.Sc. (Actuarial Science).
